Friday Favorites: ‘At Home Workouts” edition!

HAPPY FRIDAY! Guys, I’m feelin’ it. Working Tuesday-Friday is NO JOKE. How on earth to people do that every week?!?! This is actually hilarious because at my last job I worked overtime like a crazy person and now I’m like being dragged by the struggle bus.  Well, counting my blessings becauuuuse it’s FRIDAY!

Forever quoting this kid…LINDA LINDA!

For today’s post I really wanted to share some of my favorite at home workout options because really, this is how I started my personal fitness journey!

I used to HATE the gym, and although I actually love it now, I know that 1) there are people who can only workout from home due to finances/schedule/whatever and 2) I love having at home options. Sometimes I’m crazy enough to wake up and work out before going to work, and if I’m going to do it it will be 30 minutes or less and I’m not driving to the gym. Also, at home workouts are underrated. BBG can be done at home or advanced in the gym and that workout plan is NO JOKE.

Rencently tried to die by randomly doing Kayla Itsines Arms and Abs from her 12 week plan after not doing it for a few months. That ish is hard! Also, thank you snap chat filters…

So here are a few of my favorite home workout options and sources!

Jillian Michaels: A few years back, I went on a weight loss journey and ALL I did was Jillian Michaels DVDs for a good 6-8 months and lost about 30 lbs. Here are my FAVORITE (Jillian Michaels’) DVD’s:

NTC: Nike Training Club: This app is AWESOME. Whether you’re at home OR in the gym, you can browse the workouts beforehand, then you can pick a plan based on your goals and the equipment you have available. Source and Source

AND these workouts are created from some of the most talented Nike Trainers! Can you beat that? I’ve kept this app for a few years now. I’m kind of on the ‘no plan is my plan’ kick. But when I want a strength workout and don’t feel like writing it, BOOM. It’s there. And it tracks everything if you’re in to all that.

You Tube: I am a gym rat, I will not lie. But I love the atmosphere of being in the gym around people and using equipment I don’t have. (And yes, I had to overcome that ‘fear’ of working out in front of people I felt were 600 times more fit than myself). HOWEVER, for the super busy people or the people who don’t feel like using spending money on a gym? This is awesome. There are several really awesome workout videos on here! Here are a few of my favorites from POPSUGAR’s Youtube Channel

Kayla Itsines BBG: https://www.kaylaitsines.com/.      About a year ago I completed her 12 week guide a few times through and moved on to her second guide. And GUYS. Results on results on results. Honestly, I still mix some of her stuff in, I just really missed weight training and I believe in doing what you feel like for your workouts because a) often it’s your body saying what it wants and b) you won’t stick to it if not! It was also this program that really taught me how to format my workouts. Even thought the current strength regimen I’m doing differs form her workouts, her plan taught me the importance of rest, not overdoing it, and LISS workouts (Low intensity steady state cardio). I now have plenty of days where a brisk, 40 minute walk is my workout. Your body needs balance!

Have any of you done these workouts? Or do you have any to share?

Do you workout from home? Or in the gym? or Both?

Happy weekending!

Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
